Future developments for rosslyndigital.co.uk

Friday, February 12th, 2010

With the launch of the Rosslyn Digital site there’s optimisations and improvements to be made. We’re going to upgrade these elements for a couple of hours each week. The process will be gradual, but will be worth it so we can improve your experience on the site. We’ve got a todo list and a “should we do it” list.

The heralded rosslyndigital.co.uk updates todo list:

  1. Further code optimisations (jQuery, PHP, HTML/CSS)
  2. Add Last.FM/Twitter/LinkedIN data (without going overboard) to Get in Touch
  3. Add a few more projects to What We’ve Done
  4. Load content on the fly on What We’ve Done
  5. Add more of the team to Get in Touch
  6. Adjust the next/prev post buttons on the blog
  7. Improve Twitter Cloud Randomness
  8. Feature poll
  9. Airbrush Michael’s fringe on Get in Touch

The “should we do it” list:

  1. Separate development section for our apps?
  2. Bigger description of our services?
  3. Description of our working process?
  4. Download section – contains promotional media?

Please feel free to leave a comment and let us know any issues you have on the site as well as any things you’d like to see (be it in jest or because you want to love us more). We’ll update this list as we go.

Welcome to Rosslyn Digital

Friday, February 5th, 2010

Rosslyn Digital Ltd was founded by Jonathan Lee and Michael Austin, and began trading 1st January 2010. There are two sides to our business; Publishing and Production & Services.

‘Publishing’ refers to the creation of web and mobile based assets which have been developed by us and will be operated for the benefit of our business.

‘Production & Services’ describes the contract software development and associated services we provide to third parties for a fee.

History

During 2008 Jonathan’s company (Rosslyn Promotions Ltd) hired Michael’s company (Circa82 Media Ltd) to create its web site and to provide web development for its client base.

After a year of working together, Jonathan and Michael decided to join forces to create Rosslyn Digital Ltd. Rosslyn Promotions Ltd is currently celebrating its 15th annivesary and continues to supply promotional merchandise and incentives to many well known organisations.

Publishing

We already have five digital assets in production. They will operate in the following fields; Business services, social media and entertainment.

Each asset has its own business model and marketing plan.

In some cases revenue will be gleaned from service fees, set-up charges and subscriptions with advertising revenue supporting the others.

It is also likely that we will develop assets that generate no immediate revenue, their potential sale value being driven by the number of users or level traffic they generate.

Going forward, we intend to create a portfolio of assets including smart-phone applications and on-line stores.

Production & services

Many businesses now attach far greater importance to their digital marketing activity. This is leading to strong demand for site upgrades and additional services such as email marketing and more recently, the creation and management of a social media presence.

Our strategy is to encourage clients to make better use of the opportunities digital marketing affords.
